It would appear that Chief Justice John Roberts was more nervous than the President-elect. Roberts messed up the oath, Obama realized that, paused, and waited for Roberts to correct himself. And, I still don't think he got it right.
From the Constitution of the United States (Article II, Section 1, Clause 8):
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Thank you, Mister President, for taking on the burden of leadership. May God guide each of your steps along the path you now walk. Amen.
