2009 Detroit Auto Show: Volkswagen BlueSport

Volkswagen unveiled a hot concept at the North American International Auto show call the BlueSport Roadster.  It's a sleek, open-air sports car with a clean diesel power plant.  VW says the 2.0 liter turbodiesel engine puts out 180 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque and gets 50 miles per gallon on the highway.

Right now, there are no plans to produce the BlueSport Roadster but the Detroit Free Press reports VW executives are excited about the car.  From its looks and specs, I'm excited, too!

Oh, Good Evening!
